Viñaoliva Sociedad Cooperativa controls a total of 38,000 hectares of vineyards. This is 50% of the output of Extremadura and thus 5% of the whole national output in Spain.

The focus is on export. The wines of the member co-operatives are sold in bulk and as bottled own-brand products for multiples and supermarkets.

Meanwhile, Viñaoliva’s own wines are made at its experimental winery, which was opened in 2008,with its own bottling line and BRC approval. That is where Zaleo wines are made in small tanks and with controlled temperatures. Zaleo wines express the terroir of Extremadura, drawing out all the potential in Extremaduran and Spanish grape varieties.
